facWEEKLY March 14
We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.
Worship This Sunday
Practices of the Way | Fasting
Join us this Sunday as we continue our new message series centered on Spiritual Disciplines. During this season of Lent, may our hearts, minds, and hands turn towards the disciplines that draw us closer to God, grow us deeper in our beliefs, and give us a richer faith to practice.
facWORSHIP Team Application
Interested in serving in the worship ministry? Fill out our facWORSHIP Team Application form and let us know a little more about yourself, why you would like to join the worship ministry, and what positions you are interested in serving in. You can find the link to the form along with additional details about our ministry at facerie.org/facworship
30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World
Did you know that a third of the world is Muslim, and they will be spending the month of March fasting and praying to draw closer to God? Join us in praying for the one true God to meet them as they seek closeness through their efforts. Pick up a booklet at the Hub today to help guide you in prayer and learn more about those needing Jesus.
It's not too late; pick up your booklet and start praying today!
HOPE Ministry: Specialized Classes
Date: Sunday, March 30
Time: 12:30–2pm
Place: in room F203
HOPE Ministry provides English classes to refugees and immigrants in Erie, which allows us the opportunity to love our neighbors as Jesus would and meet their needs. We're starting some specialized classes to meet the needs of the students and are looking for volunteers to help assist in those classes. We plan to start a sewing class, a driving permit class, and a citizenship prep class. You only need to love Jesus, love people, and speak English to volunteer–no experts needed!
If you're interested in helping in any of these classes, join us for lunch on Sunday, March 30th, after services in room F203.
For more information contact Amy McCullough at amccullough@facerie.org
Pastor's Prayer Partners
Every Sunday morning, we have a team of prayer warriors that meets before and during each service. They pray over the worship service: for the pastor, the worship team, the tech team, and the congregation. They pray over the classes and groups that are meeting, the volunteers who are serving, the ministry leaders, and the church staff. In addition, they pray for the many ministries and activities that take place during the week, and they pray for the needs of our church family. Some sit in the prayer room for the entirety of their time spent praying, while others pray while walking through the building. You get to do what feels comfortable for you.
Does this sound like something you'd like to be a part of? The commitment is only about one hour of your time once a month, and you get to choose which service works better for you (before/during the 9:30 service or the 11:00 service).
You can sign up to join the team by clicking on the link below or by stopping at the table in the lobby. If you have any questions, please reach out to Andy Boncella at andrewboncella@gmail.com or call the church office at 814-833-9862.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
FAC's First Impressions ministry is seeking friendly volunteers to serve alongside our already amazing team! This team consists of greeters, ushers, coffee and snack team, The Hub/Welcome Desk, attendance counters, pew ministry, security, and parking team.
Joining the First Impressions team is a rewarding experience because not only are you serving others, the church, and the Lord, but it's a great way to get to know more people and make lasting connections.
If you are interested in learning more about the many volunteer opportunities available, please stop by the table in the lobby on Sunday mornings or contact Kim Palmer in the church office at 814-833-9862 or email firstimpressions@facerie.org.
Prayer for International workers, David & Brenda Aderholdt
David and Brenda Aderholdt are international workers supported by FAC. They serve the Macedonian community. Thank you for praying for Brenda’s continued therapy. Last week was a difficult week of therapy (shoulder replacement). Thank you for praying for our ANA Leaders’ Meeting (women’s ministry in Macedonia) last Saturday. The conversation about closing the ANA Center was difficult and emotional. We pray that God’s work in our hearts and time will bring healing.
You can learn more about them by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” near The Hub and you can partner with David and Brenda in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions Fund.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
