facWEEKLY March 7

We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.

Worship This Sunday

Practices of the Way | Discipline | 1 Timothy 4:1-10, John 14:6, Acts 9:2

Join us this Sunday as we kick off a new message series centered on Spiritual Disciplines. During this season of Lent, may our hearts, minds, and hands turn towards the disciplines that draw us closer to God, grow us deeper in our beliefs, and give us a richer faith to practice.

Reminder:

Don't forget to 'Spring' forward! Daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March 9. Remember to set your clocks AHEAD one hour Saturday night.

Benevolence Fund

FAC's Benevolence Ministry is designed to help the FAC family, primarily widows, single parent families, the unemployed, and those with financial emergencies and unexpected expenses. This ministry is entirely funded through the generous giving of our church family.

If you would like to give, whether regularly, or when the Lord leads, you can mark your giving envelopes or click on “Benevolence Fund” on the drop-down box through FAC's online giving.

If you are experiencing a need, you may contact Jim Kubaney (814-323-6825) or Pastor Scott Shuffield (sshuffield@facerie.org).

30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World

Did you know that a third of the world is Muslim, and they will be spending the month of March fasting and praying to draw closer to God? Join us in praying for the one true God to meet them as they seek closeness through their efforts. Pick up a booklet at the Hub today to help guide you in prayer and learn more about those needing Jesus.

It's not too late; pick up your booklet and start praying today!

Pastor's Prayer Partners

Every Sunday morning, we have a team of prayer warriors that meets before and during each service. They pray over the worship service: for the pastor, the worship team, the tech team, and the congregation. They pray over the classes and groups that are meeting, the volunteers who are serving, the ministry leaders, and the church staff. In addition, they pray for the many ministries and activities that take place during the week, and they pray for the needs of our church family. Some sit in the prayer room for the entirety of their time spent praying, while others pray while walking through the building. You get to do what feels comfortable for you.

Does this sound like something you'd like to be a part of? The commitment is only about one hour of your time once a month, and you get to choose which service works better for you (before/during the 9:30 service or the 11:00 service).

You can sign up to join the team by clicking on the link below or by stopping at the table in the lobby. If you have any questions, please reach out to Andy Boncella at andrewboncella@gmail.com or call the church office at 814-833-9862.

Volunteer Opportunities Available

FAC's First Impressions ministry is seeking friendly volunteers to serve alongside our already amazing team! This team consists of greeters, ushers, coffee and snack team, The Hub/Welcome Desk, attendance counters, pew ministry, security, and parking team.

Joining the First Impressions team is a rewarding experience because not only are you serving others, the church, and the Lord, but it's a great way to get to know more people and make lasting connections.

If you are interested in learning more about the many volunteer opportunities available, please stop by the table in the lobby on Sunday mornings or contact Kim Palmer in the church office at 814-833-9862 or email firstimpressions@facerie.org.

Prayer for International Workers

David and Evangeline Kindervater are international workers supported by FAC, serving in Tokyo, Japan. Thank you for praying for the gathering of an evangelistic Gospel choir. They just had their first two “free trial” rehearsals (a morning and an evening rehearsal, to accommodate schedules). Each rehearsal had just two people come. Quite a small “choir,” but all enjoyed it and said they wanted to join. They typically get 20-30 when they start a choir, so they would normally be a bit discouraged, but they are excited by the type of people who came. Please pray that those who came will continue and will meet Jesus through the music. Pray that others will join.

You can partner with David and Evangeline in ministry by giving to the Great Commission Fund.

Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?

"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
