facWEEKLY September 13

We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.

Worship This Sunday

Building the Good Life |  Matthew 7:15-29

As Jesus wraps up his teaching in the “Sermon on the Mount", he summarizes his challenge in 3 images, all of them pointing us to a discerning spirit and a purposeful life.  Are we building the good life that Jesus has invited us to?

Cultural IQ

Date: Sunday, September 22
Time: 6:30–8:30pm
Place: in room E215

As our city grows more diverse, we have more opportunities to connect with people of different cultures from around the world. If you worry about how to start those conversations, then join us and increase your Cultural IQ! Brother Christoph grew up in a Christian home but in an Islamic country. He's returning to continue the conversation about sharing hope with Muslims.

Don't miss this great event! Dessert will be provided.

For more information contact Amy McCullough at amccullough@facerie.org.

Fall Fest Volunteers!

Date: Saturday, September 28
Time: 10am-5pm
Place: in the church parking lot

We're bringing back Fall Fest, and we're so excited! We will need a lot of helping hands to pull this off. The more volunteers we have, the lighter the load will be for each of us, and we know the great things we’ve been able to do in the past when our amazing church family gets together.

So here’s what’s happening that day and what we’ll need.

Of course we’ll need volunteers to help us set up and tear down, but we’ll also be hosting activities and games, some of them running all day and others at certain times during the afternoon. We have planned activities for kids and adults alike, like a hay ride, a pie eating contest, inflatables, pumpkin launching, a dunk tank, and more.

The actual event will be noon-4pm, but we'll need help starting at 10am until 5pm. If you come at 9:30am, we'll give you breakfast! Sign up to help at the table in the lobby or click on the button below.

The Collingsworth Family Classics and Hymns Fall Tour 2024

Date: Friday, October 4
Time: 7pm
Place: in the worship center

The Collingsworth Family is coming to FAC this fall! They are a Southern Gospel/Inspirational group started by Phil and Kim Collingsworth and feature their family as the group.

Planted

Date: Sundays, beginning October 6
Time: 9:30–10:30am
Place: in room C105 (behind the gym)

Hey, Gen-X and Millennials at FAC! Do you wonder how to make friends at our age? Do you long for stronger relationships in the church? Do you want to reach your neighbors or get involved in community ministry? Do you want to live life together? Let’s start by reading the Bible together and see where God leads us! Join us on Sunday mornings to explore His word together, discuss questions we have, learn how to be planted in His truths, and drink delicious coffee (of course). We welcome your children of any age. We don’t have childcare at the moment, but we’re praying for it in the future!

Register at the table in the lobby, on our website or click on the button below.

Prayer for International Workers

Rob and Barbara Quiring are international workers supported by FAC. They served for many years in Ecuador and are now located in Nebraska.

Please pray for Carlos Remache and the elders of the Agato CMA church in Ecuador, as each Saturday they are holding meetings in communities where the gospel is not well known. Every September, when they conduct these outreach campaigns, people have responded positively to the gospel. They have a baptismal event along with the other CMA churches in the indigenous association (about 32 Kichwa churches). In July, the Agato church had 8 baptismal candidates, and there were about 100 for all the churches combined.

You can learn more about them by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” near The Hub, and you can partner with Rob & Barb in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions Fund
