facWEEKLY December 6
We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.
Worship This Sunday
Light of the World | Week 2 | John 1:6-9
This Advent season, join us as we look at the opening chapter of the Gospel of John and see how Jesus has come to us as the Light of the World. This Christmas season, let’s be reminded again, or perhaps discover for the first time, the great gift that God has given us in Jesus to shine in our lives and world, helping us to see the life he has in mind for us.
2024 Advent Devotional
As the Christmas season quickly approaches, we’re excited to share this new Advent devotional with you! Written by members of The Alliance Writers Collective, this year’s guide focuses on the theme Joy for All People.
“I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10b–11.
The devotional covers the four traditional Advent themes, as well as a special devotional for Christmas Eve.
Week 1: The Candle of Hope
Week 2: The Candle of Peace
Week 3: The Candle of Joy
Week 4: The Candle of Love
Christmas Eve: The Candle of Christ
You can find the Advent Devotional at this link: https://www.facerie.org/s/Advent-Devotional.pdf
Paper copies will be available at The Hub.
Prayer & Worship Night
Date: Wednesday, December 11
Time: 7pm
Place: in the Worship Center
Due to the snow emergency, we have rescheduled our Prayer and Worship night. Join us on Wednesday, December 11, at 7pm in the Worship Center as we gather for a time of Prayer & Worship. Our hope is to see this and future gatherings be a time of people seeking God in prayer together, times of celebration, and times of intercession for each other. Let’s see what God will do at FAC as we seek Him first. May all our concerns be met in Jesus as we come to Him in prayer.
We kindly ask that you use the two main entrances of the building, as our youth group also meets on Wednesday evenings. For the safety of our students, the office entrance will remain locked.
The Wonder of Christmas - A Christmas event for Senior Adults
Date: Sunday, December 8
Time: 6:30–8:30pm
Place: in the Youth Center
A popular Christmas song declares that Christmas is “…the most wonderful time of the year!” But so often we get bogged down in lists, gatherings, and presents that we lose the wonder of Christmas. Join us as we refocus on the wonder that God became man so that we could be adopted into God’s family.
This evening will be full of music, singing, and other expressions of wonder toward Almighty God!
Christmas Eve at FAC
Date: Tuesday, December 24
Time: 5pm
Place: in the Worship Center & Youth Center
Make plans now, inviting family and friends to join us on December 24, for our annual Christmas Eve candlelight service. This year we will meet at 5pm, offering two venues here at FAC. You can join us in the Worship Center, or for a smaller, more intimate gathering, join us in the Youth Center, where we will live stream the service. Both locations will offer our traditional singing of 'Silent Night' by candlelight.
Magi Offering
At our Christmas Eve service, we will carry on our Magi offering tradition. As in years past, we encourage the FAC family to generously give above their regular tithes and offerings to contribute to those in our congregation who are in need. All Magi gifts go to our Benevolence fund.
When giving, please designate on your check, giving envelope, or Pushpay donation as "Magi offering" to ensure the funds go to the right place. If you would like to give a Pushpay donation click on the button below. (You can give before Christmas Eve if that works best for you).
Prayer for International Workers
Jim and LuAnn Eaton are international workers supported by FAC, serving in Alicante, Spain. Pray for two families from the preschool who have begun attending Jim and LuAnn’s church.
You can partner with Jim and LuAnn in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions Fund.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.
Finance Information
Father, as we lay before you our financial offering, we give you all that we are and everything that you have entrusted to us. Bless these gifts for the sake of your kingdom and glory.
