facWEEKLY May 10
We hope you've had a good week, FAC Family! Here are just some of the great things happening in the coming weeks.
Worship This Sunday
Acts: Movement and Mission | Week 6
Each of us has a story. Some of our stories might seem like they can be found in the horror/thriller section, and the story itself seems to have no end in sight. For others, our stories can seem like journal entries about a regular day. Whether your story is a constant thriller or a mundane script, one thing is for sure: your story is powerful and beautiful.
The Book of Acts records the power and beauty of Jesus and what happens when He encounters us.
Join us this Sunday as we continue our series in Acts (Acts 9) about the story of a man called Saul and how Jesus turned his story upside down.
HOPE Summer Outreach
Date: Monday, May 13
Time: 7pm
Place: in B106
HOPE's ministry to refugees will continue over the summer in creative ways, so students can continue to progress and practice their English. Join us on Monday, May 13, at 7pm for an information meeting and learn how you can be involved this summer. There are many different times, locations, and activities to get involved in to fit your interests and availability.
Visit our table in the lobby on Sunday morning for more information. The only requirements are that you love people, love Jesus, and speak English!
Great Commission Day
Date: Sunday, May 19
Sending is at the heart of the Alliance. We have committed to seeing the advancement of the gospel around the world through the strategic goal of sending 52 new international workers each year through 2025. We could surpass that goal this year! In order to send and support these IWs, we give to the Great Commission Fund. A Great Commission Day offering will be taken on May 19th. This year, there is a $550,000 matching gift! Prayerfully decide how you can be a part of what God is doing around the world!
Designate checks or cash using the giving envelopes and checking "Great Commission" or by clicking on that drop-down when giving electronically.
Watch the video below to see examples of how your gifts are used.
facMEN's Softball
Softball season is here, so come on out and support the facMEN's team! Games begin on May 20, and schedules are available at The Hub. Go FAC!
Women's Care Center 5K Run + Walk For Life
Date: Saturday, June 1
Time: 9am–2pm
Place: at Pleasant Ridge Park, Girard
The Women's Care Center is hosting its annual 5K Run + Walk For Life event. To learn more or to register, visit www.wccerie.org or call Debbie Kunkle at 814-836-7505.
Welcome Shower for Isaiah & Abbie
In case you missed the announcement, FAC has hired a new Director of Worship & Production, Mr. Isaiah Ream! Isaiah and his soon-to-be wife, Abbie, will be joining us in mid-June. We would love to welcome Isaiah and Abbie to FAC and to Erie by showering them with gifts of love, and we invite you, the congregation, to be a part of that! Here are a few suggestions on how you can participate if you choose to do so:
*Gift cards to area restaurants, grocery stores, and other stores like Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
*Everyday household items such as paper plates, napkins, paper towels, tissues, garbage bags, etc.
*A greeting card of encouragement, welcoming them to FAC and Erie
*We kindly ask that you do not donate food items due to food sensitivity reasons.
You may drop off your gifts at the table in the lobby on Sunday mornings or at the church office during the week. All gifts should be received no later than Sunday, June 2.
Prayer for International Workers
Rob and Barbara Quiring are international workers supported by FAC. They served for many years in Ecuador and are now located in Nebraska. You may have seen the news that multiple tornadoes ripped through Nebraska on April 26th. Midway through the afternoon, the tornado sirens began to sound, telling them to seek shelter right away! After a while the sirens stopped. They turned on the news as reports came in. 15 minutes to the west and to the north of their home, neighborhoods were destroyed by an EF-3 tornado, with the wind speeds estimated up to 165 mph. The good news is that there were no reports of loss of life. Rob and Barb are fine. Things can be replaced.
You can learn more about them by picking up a copy of our “Prayer Guide for World Missions” near The Hub and you can partner with Rob & Barb in ministry by giving to the FAC Missions Fund.
Sunday Footnotes:
A gentle reminder to our Sunday family: if the service has already started, please refrain from using the center aisle to enter or leave the worship center, especially during the sermon time. Our camera operator needs a clear view of the pulpit.
Do You Have a Prayer Request or Praise?
"Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere" (Ephesians 6:18, NLT).
The staff and elders at FAC would love to pray for you. Send your request or praise to Pastor Scott through the form below.

Father, as we lay before you our financial offering, we give you all that we are and everything that you have entrusted to us. Bless these gifts for the sake of your kingdom and glory.
