Why is global impact work important?

We want everyone to know Jesus. There are people in our community who don’t know Him, and there are people on the other side of the planet who don’t know him. We aim to change that by reaching into the community and sending into the world.

200,000

The number of unreached people in Erie county shows the need for local impact work.

Three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day.

Meet our International Workers

The Aderholdts

Macedonia

David and Brenda focus exclusively on developing leaders, their capacity, their reach and their influence. This leads to more churches planted, more social challenges addressed such as homes for orphans, human trafficking and slaves. This leads to more jobs and infrastructure in crippled economies. This leads to more people hearing the Good News. They are committed to changing the world one leader at a time. David and Brenda have three grown children.

Chris & Liz

Creative Access Country/10-40 Window

Chris and Liz are involved in Bible translation and church planting. They were serving separately in those ministries in the same area before meeting and marrying in 2013. Now they serve together but in the same capacities. Chris and Liz have four children.

The Quirings

Nebraska

Rob and Barbara have transitioned from Ecuador and are now living in Nebraska. They are working through the Ministry Service Center in Colorado Springs. Rob is serving with the leadership team of the Spotlight English program and is teaching English as a second language to refugees locally. Rob and Barbara have two adult children.

The Fugates

Mexico

After 25 years church planting in Chile, Bob and Cheryl moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2014 to ignite a church planting effort.

Bob is the lead missionary in Project Southpointe, which will be a multisite church plant, with campuses around Guadalajara and by the end of 2025 at least five church plants in the five surrounding states. They want to leave them with a church with national leaders that can continue reaching their city for Jesus.

Cheryl assists in the church planting, which has two campuses and will soon start a third campus. Cheryl is director of Circle of Hope, which ministers to women and children who have been abandoned, abused, or left in extreme poverty. Circle of Hope has workshops that lead to small businesses, giving women dignity, skills and a way to advance in society—during these workshops Jesus is presented as our HOPE even in hard times. The goal is to have a Circle of Hope with each new church campus.

Bob and Cheryl have 4 children and 11 grandchildren.

Steve and Christy

North & Central Asia

After 20 years of ministry in the same country, Steve & Christy moved to the capital city of a neighboring country to join the work that the Alliance was already doing in that city. In addition to the both of them serving as Team Developers, Steve envisions his local ministries, including coaching pastors, leadership development and helping to develop the Alliance as a denomination in the country.  Christy, a Clinical Psychologist, will spend much of her time counseling international workers who come to her for counsel and care. Their three adult children and four young grandchildren all live in the US.

You can support our international workers by giving to either the Great Commission Fund or the FAC Missions Fund through our easy, online giving solution.

HOPE | English as a Second Language Ministry

Our Mission

Transforming our communities by introducing people to a transformational relationship with Jesus through ESL Ministry. As a resettlement city, Erie is now home to thousands of immigrants and refugees who don't know Jesus. Many have been here for years with no one approaching them to share the gospel. Through ESL, we’re mobilizing the church to offer a service they can use plus the “felt need” of friendship. Our goal is to offer hope in Christ as we offer hope of a better future in America through English classes. Volunteers are always welcome.

Contact Amy McCullough at amccullough@facerie.org for more information and to receive an application. Multiple class times are being held at different locations around Erie. Students are welcome to show up to any class for a free evaluation, click the link below to see times and locations. Classes are free but a book is $10 for 15 weeks of instruction.
